tips b4 exam..

A fortnight before exams? DON'T PANIC. You still have time to 'SAVE' all the formulae
and information in your part of brain. Just follow the steps....

Step 1:
Make a realistic commitment to study and create a good time table for your self

Step 2:
Divide the learning into short periods of time followed by a little rest after each
study lesson

Step 3:
Read by understanding instead of cramming because it may affect you during exam

Step 4:
First look at the beginning and end of a chapter or notes and come back to the middle

Step 5:
Carefully go over the entire chapter or notes and come back to the middle again

Step 6:
Outline the important points and pass through them for at least two times in order to
understand them properly

Step 7:
Since learning is enhanced when you are relax, take time before you start studying by
stretching, walking, playing or whatever helps you to relax. This will keep your brain
fresh

Step 8:
Study in a comfortable place with good environment and make enough survey about the
topic so as to see how the paths relate to the whole before you start

Step 9:
If the assignment requires a textbook for reference, try to get it in time. Review the
introduction, table of contents, summaries and chapter previews and then start a
serious studying

Step 10:
In order to sustain your concentration, take notes, self test, ask questions and meet
your classmate who knows better than you for the serious discussions

Step 11:
In order to strengthen your memory of material, ask your self how it relates to prior
learning. In this way you may seek association and connection with the information you
have already committed to memory

Step 12:
Write your notes in your own words for easy understanding in times of revising

Step 13:
Slow down when you come across material that is difficult. Instead re-read it, move on
and return to it later to see if it makes more sense.

Step 14:
Review the main concepts for at least every 10 to 15 minutes. Then again after one
day, and again after a week. This process will help you to record information as a
long-term memory

Tips and Warning!!
-----------------
• Avoid being hungry when you sit down to study because it may affect your learning
and understanding
• Avoid taking meals contains too much carbohydrates or fats because those are likely
to make you sleepy
• Avoid reading your notes into much sunshine because it may affect your sight hence
eye defection
